Women Who Write will be hosting an Open Mic event at the Washington Valley Library's Martinsville Community Center, located at 1961 Washington Ave., in Martinsville, NJ, on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon.
Excuse us for boasting, but our open mics are a blast! Local writers get to share their creativity with each other and an audience of listeners. It is a wonderful opportunity to bone up on your presentation skills and to see what listeners respond to. Readers will be given up to 4 minutes to read their works. We can schedule between 25 and 30 readers and accommodate more than 50 listeners. Oh, and let's not forget, we do this while enjoying coffees, teas, and wonderful baked goods.
All attendees are eligible for one the many gifts we give away at end of our events, this may include books, gift cards, and gift baskets donated by local businesses.
Whether you're a listener or a reader, to offset expenses we ask that members of Women Who Write pay $15, and non-members pay $20.
