ABOUT WOMEN WHO WRITE

Women Who Write, Inc. began in June 1988 as a single writing group called Mothers Who Write.  Today, we are a regional women writers' organization and nonprofit corporation with writing groups that meet throughout New Jersey.

Our Goals:

· To assist women writers in every phase of the writing process – with critique groups, workshops, and discussions

· To bring the work of women writers into the community through readings and publications

· To provide encouragement, assistance, and a sense of community to women writers who might otherwise be working in isolation

Any woman who writes may join Women Who Write, Inc.  Our members include writers of all literature.  Some are award-winning professionals who publish regularly; others write mainly for pleasure and self-discovery. We support each writer in establishing and meeting personal objectives.

ALL ARE WELCOME

Women Who Write is a member-run organization. Participation is vital to its success. The following committees welcome help at any time:

  • Group Coordinators:  Group Coordinators are essential to establishing a writing group. Each coordinator is responsible for all the business aspects of a group, including communicating with the President and the Board and keeping the group’s activities within WWW bylaws. Group coordinators may or may not lead each meeting, depending on what each group decides.

  • Education:  Women Who Write organizes writing workshops throughout the year.

  • Special Events:  Committee members help coordinate readings, workshops, social gatherings, and other special events.

  • Newsletter:  Committee members may contribute an article, copyedit, or help proofread our newsletter.

  • Literary Magazine:  Committee members read and select submissions for Goldfinch, our literary magazine.
